Each individual entry has the fee listed beside it. It is important that you list the correct length of your entry. This measurement reserves your space in the parade line-up and if it is not correct then your entry will not fit, and there will be no refunds. Please list the number of entries of each kind and the total amount to the left. Beside the “Cost of Entry” is the amount of footage you will get, if you need additional footage you can purchase it in 10 foot sections for $10.00.

2023 Blount County Jaycees Christmas Parade Rules

Early registrations must be received by EXTENDED TO Saturday, November 18th, 2023. All others will be considered late and subject to a late fee of $20.00. No entry will be accepted after WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 22th, 2023 (ONLINE ONLY).

The Blount County Jaycees, Inc. reserves the right to refuse any entry at any time for any reason.

All entries must be registered, have a completed application and all fees paid prior to the final application deadline of WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 18th, 2023, before they will be allowed in the parade line-up (Online applications only until closure on 11/22/2023)

All entries, regardless of type, must have some type of Christmas Decorations (bows, wreath, etc.) or parade theme items attached to their entry.

There will be only ONE Santa Claus or such likeness in the parade. The Blount County Jaycees, Inc. will provide Santa Claus.

Entries should begin to line up at 9:00 am the morning of the parade. The parade will begin at 11am.

Due to the conditions of the parade route, some types of vehicles will not be accepted due to the risk of injuries.

All entries will follow state and local traffic laws and meet state insurance requirements.

All drivers of parade vehicles (including four wheelers) must be 18 years of age, have proof of driving license and insurance on the day of the parade.

All tractors trailers (semi’s) will be required to show proof of license and liability ($1 million) insurance on that specific tractor trailer, covering people riding on/or around the trailer, plus an additional insured clause listing New Midland Plaza, West 2 East Land, L.P., Wood Properties, Inc., and the Commerce Group to New Midland Plaza management 1 (one) week prior to the parade.

There will be no vendors allowed along the parade route or in New Midland Plaza. This includes the selling of any food, toys, crafts, or blow up items from bicycles, booths, vehicles, or shopping carts. Individuals caught will be subject to fines.

No posters, handouts, or flyers can be handed out in New Midland Plaza.

HORSES Special Rules: All horses must be diapered before the parade starts or the participants must provide a pooper-scooper. Horses need to arrive early. Park trailers in the old Alcoa Utility building lot. Horses will graze/wait in the field next to the building. Riders for horses can be under the age of 10, if accompanied by an adult.

MOTORCYCLE Special Rules: Each motorcycle has an entry cost and there will be 4 motorcycles lined-up per 20 foot section. Motorcycle entries must be a member of a motorcycle or riding club.

FOUR WHEELERS Special Rules: Each 4-wheeler entry cost $10 and must be a member of a 4-wheeler riding club. ABSOLUTELY NO RECKLESS BEHAVIOR. Drivers of the 4-wheelers must be 18 years old, have proof of license and insurance on the day of the parade. Reckless operations of vehicle are subject to ticketing. All passengers on the 4-wheeler must be at least 10 years of age, and the operator of the 4-wheeler assumes all responsibility for the driver and passenger.

In the event of inclement (rain, snow, sleet) weather conditions, a decision will be made by 10:00 am, or on Facebook. You can listen to the voice message at 865-268-9509 as well.

Parade line-up will be established by Blount County Jaycees, Inc. and will be listed in the Daily Times by Friday, December 1, 2023 edition.

Candy can be given out along the parade route, but cease once reaching the Maryville Municipal Bldg.

All returned checks for application fee will be assessed a $30 fee.
